Dear Potential New Member,
Sorority recruitment, what an exciting time! My name is Stella Kamensky, the Vice President of Membership for Delta Gamma. It seems just like yesterday that I was in your shoes. You are about to engage in a memorable college experience so relax and enjoy the sorority recruitment process. I fondly remember entering the Delta Gamma house for the first time, meeting amazing young ladies, and soon feeling like I was at home! Delta Gamma is a safe, comfortable place where sisters love and nurture one another while navigating college life.
Why Delta Gamma? This sorority has helped me become a better person and I’ve seen how sisterhood positively influences others. The women of Delta Gamma radiate confidence, determination, and intelligence. These incredible ladies have enriched my life in so many ways and propelled me to achieve success in college. There’s a wise adage, “you’re only as good as the company you keep.” But perhaps more important than fostering academic accolades, my Delta Gamma sisters have become close friends. They listen, support, respect, and encourage me and one another. Each member has diverse interests and personality, but we share core values including teamwork, accountability, loyalty, courage, and compassion.
What sets Delta Gamma apart from other sororities is our commitment to philanthropy. You will learn that Delta Gamma actively participates in many events, fostering awareness among sisters about fellow students, the community, and the world around us. Our sisters recognize the essence of collaboration, understanding that together, we harness our talents to bring about positive change in society. The Delta Gamma motto is simple but true: “Do Good!”
I personally welcome you to explore Delta Gamma, meet our sisters, ask questions, and have fun. The girls you will be talking to could become your best friends. Be open-minded and enjoy the recruitment experience as you explore sorority options. Recruitment is meant to be enjoyable, not stressful. Follow your intuition and you’ll recognize where you belong. Why Delta Gamma?
Representing a wide range of backgrounds and personalities, every member of Delta Gamma is unique. Yet we all share a single bond of sisterhood forged through friendship and a shared vision of support and community. Our sisters challenge us to grow and transform into the best version of ourselves, while also reminding us to embrace the person that initially brought us home to Delta Gamma.
Joining Delta Gamma
Being a Delta Gamma is more than joining a chapter of our Fraternity. It is the first step in developing a life-long sisterhood and bonds with women who want to make the world a better place. During recruitment, we seek women who will bring the qualities that our members themselves hold near and dear, such as:
• A lifelong commitment to Delta Gamma
• The desire to partake in service to help others
• Achieving full academic potential
• Participation and/or eagerness to undertake leadership positions
• Join activities, athletics, and share talents within DG and UF community
• Strong moral character
Who is a Delta Gamma Legacy?
The term "legacy" is used to describe a potential new member who is a sister, daughter, granddaughter, or great-granddaughter of a member of Delta Gamma. The Fraternity also recognizes a stepsister, stepdaughter, step-granddaughter, or step-great-granddaughter as a legacy. While we understand that sisters, mothers, grandmothers and close relatives will continue to share their cherished Delta Gamma memories with those preparing for sorority recruitment, the opportunity to become a member is the same for all potential new members based on individual qualifications. Once a bid is offered, a new member’s DG relative can embrace their legacy but until they become a Delta Gamma by the chapter’s choice, they are equal to all other potential new members.

As a member of Delta Gamma Fraternity, your daughter is joining an organization dedicated to promoting high ideals of friendship, educational and cultural interests, a true sense of social responsibility and developing the best qualities of character.
